Enabling stencil shadows on model with DDS skins - 07/22/08 17:25

I want to enable stencil shadows on a model with multiple DDS skins, but the engine doesnt enable stencil shadows on models with alphachannel in skin. Earlier i used this trick - i saved a model with a blank BMP skin, enabled shadows and then loaded the real skin, but now i can't use this method as my model has 7 skins. Are there any ways to solve this?

why the hell do you need 7 skins? get a decent modelling package and bake everything in one or two skins.

each skin is 512x512 or 1024x1024, ans some gpu's don't support higher resolution

i need 5 skins only for my snowboard.
Why..
Because every logo, top-Plate, Shoe-holder and Frame is changeable during the game ^^.
That´s why someone could use more than 1 or 2 skins..

fixed that by changing DXTc format to DXTa

Use a lod model with one texture and the engine use those model for the sadow (if I renember wheel for automatic lod only need to make the models with the same name but with other number, better you see te manual, and search for lod. "model_0.mdl, model_1.mdl")
