Hi.

Ok , i Finish one demo of a simple game and i use the publish feature , and the
engine create a cd directory whith all the data of my game.

Ok , but wen i look in the directory all my wdl files was present and wen i run the executabe a startup message tell me the engine is compilating the scripts.

Well , if all logic of my game is in C-script everyone can after change or see how i make that game?

How i can protect my game to anyone see what i create using the engine?

This is possible? How?

Honestly , i dont feel good , if i publish a game where everyone can for example load all the models and entitys of the game.

Thanks and regards.

Well, if you have the pro-edition, you can use the file packer, but If not, there is a free one, nacasi. Find it on www.cnesm.de.vu (the site is german)

Yes, the pro edition comes with a file packer. If not, don't worry to much. If someone changes the scripts after you have published then the EXE created will not run them. The scripts must remain untouched or the game/demo will not run.

That's true, but they can see the scripts and use parts of them in their own projects. But I don't know how far your copyright protects you against that...

Wolff:
Well if you own commercial, you don't have access to the 3DGS file packer as it is com only, so you can't use it if you own com. Maybe I misunderstand which file packer you refer to.

Dan:
Sorry to go off topic but why Penfold as your avatar??

Why not Danger Mouse himself?

I thought the avatar I was using for the last 4 or 5 years was too serious. Penfold is anything but serious . I happen to like Penfold .

I think Wolf was refering to this post:

I would also be interested in this file packer (the free one mentioned here) although it is in german I am not sure babelfish is going to translate enough for me to understand it... is there an english site or an english supported free file packer for 3DGS? 3rd party of course.

I personly like Click Team Install Maker (I think that's what it's called). It's easy to use and free but unfortunetly doesn't protect your files (sorry I don't have a link, do a search on google) , if you wanted to you could always write your own in C++. I believe that there is also a pro version of Install Maker that MAY protect files (I haven't been on their site for a while so I forget).

Thanks Wade, that turns out to be exactly what I was looking for. Sadly I had tried it before but had forgotten about the packer. I can't wait for Bio-DDR memory.
