Physics like Painkiller - 07/12/04 18:37

Hello all,
i was wondering if the "3dgs physicsengine" can do physics like PAINKILLER.??
if i shot the enemiy, it flys trough the room and the extremities are physicbased!
is that all bones based? (means no vertice animation)?
does sombody know if its possible to do ot with 3DGS PRO?
cheers

anotherone got the shot:) i was deeply impressed by pk, too

i think they use a mix of bones and physics and thus i think with a good portion of knowledge of bones and physic system of 3dgs it is possible. i may be wrong, but this has to be proven;)

you may google for havok(which they use) is this the so called ragdoll??

Rhuarc has developed a bones/physics system.

Yes the site is under construction right now *pretty obivous * but a few weeks ago it was fully operational. Also since Razor AI has not been released yet and you wouldn't be able to download it anyway. I *think* that you will have to buy razorai to get the ragdolls (Note: I'm not in the position to decide just an employee so don't rely on my info too much).

Well, I can say right now that RagBoned will be included in the Phantom edition of RazorAI. I also can say that we are planning a separate release of RagBoned, which will likely be sometime next month as a standalone product. The ragdolls are created using Newton Game Dynamics and A6's bone system, so it only works with Commerical and Pro editions of 3DGS, we are planning on an "all edition friendly" version of RagBoned, but this is for some time in the future.

I'm going to try and get a video posted soon of RagBoned in action (like the one I was going to post before, but this one from within an actual game using RazorAI!) A demo might be ready soon as well, but that is "iffy" yet. I'll have more info on the website when I finish it.
