Hmm, this brightness could have different reasons, perhaps you could show us a sreenshot
Have you allready checked your sun colour, level ambient, camera ambient or fog map?
All these values can influence the brightness....

No I never had this kind of problem,

to solve it for you, please find out what is the cause,

Do you use a shader?
Or some dynamic light.

Without more information, I guess noone can really help you.

You definitly use some kind of glow shader ore something like that,
as the bottom picture is not "standart" rendering.

well it does seem tot be a shader problem .. My specular shader seems to work right on ati computers .. but doesnt work right on my laptop with a nvidia go 6800 ..

im totally stumped as to why it doesnt work on the nvidia machine ...

Have your model a negativ brightness value?

Re: rrrrrrrrrr!!! Super BRIGHTNESS bug??? - 04/19/06 00:38

It is definitly a shader problem. It is problem some problem between your shader and your graphics card, or if you've updated your 3dgs version, then it may be a wierd problem between the shader and the newer 3dgs version.

But you need to post more info... And if possible, post a demo of your project, so other people can see if they have the same problem...

ATI cards have failure correction, but NVidia seems to haven't.
This is what I found out while I'm used Quest 3D (another 3D Engine).
It could be a failure in the Shader but also a driver problem.
I have a NVidia card in my PC at home and a ATI at work. There are many differences in displaying the same shaders on this cards.

It's a problem between the shader and the graphics card then... Is there any way a correction could possibly be added in? I don't do shaders, as I only have the standard version...

I don't know how this shader works and I'm not a shader programmer.
In most times with NVidia cards it's only a little thing like you must clear the screen (or bitmap) every frame (with black color) before display the new graphic effect/scene.

i may post a demo to see if you guys have the same problem ..

Mmm, it's funnny, these kind of effects are what you can get with applying shaders to a whole program. With ATI you can turn on a shader which will make the whole game black and white/grayscale, negative colors or Sepia colors for example. It looks a lot like that, anyways, it's definately a shader problem then,

Cheers
