Wich entites engine prefer: large or small?

Wich entites engine prefer: large or small? - 07/17/09 13:13

I'm creating cube game: there is cube and entities are moving on its sides.
Is it better to use large-scaled entities or small?

For example, now distance between camera and cube center is about 1500 quants... wouldnt it better to scale all world down in the same proportion?

smaller is better is assume, you know longer c_traces are slower.

thats not exacly right
traces are only slower because more entitys have to be checked but if you scale your world up as well as the traces it wouldnt be a difference.
Normally i have ~35quants=1m

I think the ideal size setup is around what the engine uses for cbabe and all, I'm not exactly sure what the scale is, but it's a nice balance. Try opening it and getting your sizes based on that.

@ Puppeteer: You're half right, but so is he. According to the manual:
