I'm going to render some frames from 3ds max of a walk and run cycle for
you and post it on my website. The renders will be of the biped skeletal
system, so it should be a decent reference for most character models.
I'll have that up by the end of today.

You could also load a model into MED that already has animations and
"scrub" through the timeline every 5 frames or so and take screenshots
to use as a reference.

I have completed the walk cycle example and have uploaded it to my website.

Here is the link: http://www.ionstudios.net/3dgs/walk/

The walk cycle is 36 frames. When I animated it in 3ds max,
I had a key frame on every 6th frame. I rendered the walk
cycle out on every 4th frame and made a slide show in flash
in which you can navigate forwards and backwards.

I have also included the full animation as an image sequence in
flash in which you can pause and play.

I have published both flash files out as Window Projector files,
and provided a link to download them so that they can be viewed
offline. Flash Window Projector files publish out as a .exe, which
has the flash player embeded in it. This way you don't need the
flash player plugin to view the files, and also you can run them without
a browser.

I will let you know as soon as I have completed the run cycle.

EDIT - I wanted to add that this walk cycle was done for a mesh of
a character wearing a kaftan(kind of like a robe but not), and
it was pretty low poly. So when I animated the legs, they
don't extend out as much (especially the calves) as they would if I had
done an animation for a charater wearing pants. Just so you know.
***********************************************************************

Hope this helps.

The run cycle is done

(see previous post for link and info about the walk cycle)

The slide show for this one represents all 21 frames in this
animation.

I also created versions to download.

Good luck!
