Second UVW skin

Second UVW skin - 03/12/10 12:27

Hi,

My problem:
I have saved my second uv skin as a text file, but when i want to import the mapping to the model it overrides the mapping for all skin channels, not only the one i imported it into.
This way i cant have two different uvw layouts.

Is there any tutorial/solution out there showing how to apply a second uv-mapping to a model in med?
Or are there any information about this topic available somewhere?
Or can anyone please share some insight and tricks here.

thanks in advance for your help
cheers and have nice one

Did you activate the second skin set and then swop skin sets of the model in MED before you loaded the layout from the text file?

In case, you are modeling in blender, you can use ventilator's $$m exporter, it exports the models with second uv layout.

Re: Second UVW skin - 03/12/10 14:02

my procedure:

+open
+file -> skin editor
+edit -> select all
+edit -> set skin
+add another skin and add its texture
+next skin (arrow down)
+pick "skin1" and set skin = skin changes in preview window to the second skin
+file -> import skin mapping (import from the second uv-mapping textfile)

The uv layout changes, but it changes the mapping for all layers of the skin. skin0 and skin1 now have the same uvw-map (the changed one)

I am not sure what you mean by "swop skin sets of the model".

Ah, okay, sorry.
Its not in the Skin Editor, but the 'main' Editor:

Edit --> Activate second skin set/Swop skin sets.

It is almost at the bottom of the list of options, before 'Manage Frames' etc.
