Shadow same color as Fog

Shadow same color as Fog - 05/04/06 15:27

Hi,
I use blue fog to create a smooth transition between hmp terrain and skybox and it works excellent.(rounds off the corners of the box)

Now the models cast blue shadows regardless of fog range or distance of camera to model.

Also, with my skybox blocks set to "sky" flag, no shadows appear.

(640.4 is looking good, great work guys)
thank you,

Shadows do not appear on the sky box, only on normal level geometry. Or do you mean that shadows don't appear at all? And are you using stencil or zbuffer shadows?

yes, srry, the shadows cast by models don't appear at all on the hmp terrain when "sky" flag is checked for the skybox block properties,(although the *+6.tga sky texture displays correctly)

Shadows are zbuffer. I tried stencil but wouldn't show with Geforce 6800 (64bit drivers)

thanks

Hmm, I have to look into this - can you send that level to support1(at)3dgamestudio(dot)com?

BTW, all Geforce cards support stencil shadows - also the GF 6800.

Hi JCL,

Srry about the delay. I now have 640.5 and can not duplicate the "shadow matches fog color" , so I haven't sent a sample level.

Now I can't get any shadows, lol. I'll start over, and try again with something as basic as possible.

thanks....
