Ot: Du solltest die Psilos doch stehen lassen...!?

It looks strange (but nice), maybe you could make a screensaver out of it.

Re: something in progress - 12/05/06 15:35

Wow... nothing special? I think it's special...^^
Looking greaT!
Only critique I have is that the butterfly thingy looks too bright for the level. It's not the same "mood"... do you know what I mean?
Other than that.... looks very nice!

Re: something in progress - 12/05/06 15:36

the last is the best, caus on the others without a small fullscreen post process, the flying besat don't seem to be integrated in the scene and it's lightening

just my opinion, but looks cool

I was faster, TheExpert ...

Re: something in progress - 12/05/06 15:48

thanks:) yes you are right about that butterfly thingie. i simply forgot to adjust it, i had a much brighter environment first. btw, everything is considered as dummies.

the flares are there everytime and brighten the screen often. but i'll change the skin of the bf anyway

Re: something in progress - 12/05/06 15:56

I think the butterfly doesnt fit into the game. The level looks fantastic and realistic. The butterfly looks like some piece of modern art. In other words. The level looks good but the "player" model looks not good.

Re: something in progress - 12/05/06 17:10

100% agree with exCiter. the lighting of the butterfly does not fit at all and the texturing stands out of the general concept.

Re: something in progress - 12/05/06 17:16

i wont repeat the butterfly comment so...

i love how the rest of it looks could use a couple of better texts, but other than that it looks like an incredibly unique game, whats the background on it?

Re: something in progress - 12/05/06 18:40

I do copy the buttefly comments:
shy not making four winged butterfly, I think it'd fit better to the scene.

Rest looks awesome!

Re: something in progress - 12/05/06 19:58

I think the lighting gives it a sertain fantasy effect, which I can appriciate ello
But just looking at the screens, it proves again that the capabilities of the A6 engine are this width and it also shows that you're the shader goeroe ello

Cheers

Re: something in progress - 12/05/06 22:50

Nice work ello, infact I like the very first screen the most. I have been playing Legacy of Kain: Defiance (aka Soul Reaver3) a lot lately, they have some very similar effects, really awesome. If you don't know the game, perhaps it's worth checking out to spark even more ideas, eventhough I'm sure you have plenty of those anyways, but still.

Cheers

Haha!! Ich hab´s mir fast gedacht. Sind alles halbdurchsichtige Modelle, oder? Haben sie wenigstens ein Material (nicht mat_model!)...?
Posted By: ello

Re: something in progress - 12/06/06 10:31

nochnichtmal das:) und die modelle sind auch nicht halbdurchsichtig.. es gibt nur einen modus wo die hintergrundfarbe null ist.. aber schaltbar

Frazzle :
"it proves again that the capabilities of the A6 engine are this"

Sorry i can't resist
i don't see where A6 big power could be showed here ?
it's not a complex scens with several characters models with good polycount
and shaders and all rest (effects, particles etc...)
show me an RTS like spellforce 2 or an FPS with standard shaders (normal, sepcular etc..) all that running in a complete and complex level with ennemies, effects etc ....

Sorry i could'nt resist

Re: something in progress - 12/06/06 16:36

Ups, sorry, thought it were a german thread!

To translate what I said:

I had a suggestion about how to integrate the moth: adding a second skin, a shadowmap, made of a part of the first screenshot, and then move its uvs over the moth's skin to simulate shadows of the web-like environement!

Well you may be right on some aspects TheExpert, I know it isn't the most complex scene ever made with A6 but I was refering to the X-factor the engine has Maybe hard to understand because the X can mean so many different things for anybody
