Borg Alcove (just for fun) - 04/04/07 08:47

Hi all,

I just made a Borg regeneration alcove from Star Trek and wanted to show you.
The alcove itself is a model with a 512x512 pixel skin.
The plasma light above the head is an animated sprite:

I'd like to read your opinion

Cool, but you need to add more cables and stuff.. and of course some borgs with this terrific laser light attachment.

Re: Borg Alcove (just for fun) - 04/08/07 21:14

Thanks for the good feedback.
Now I'm making a TNG-style transporter-station.
It shall not be a copy of the original from the series, but just
be made in the same style (still in work):

The mirror-effect is faked with a second model above the 'real' transporter platform.

Re: Star Trek Phaser - 07/28/07 12:42

Hello again... since I've got holydays I had enough time to do something again.
This is a Phaser of the 24th century in Star Trek.
The model has got 164 polygons, 256x256 pixel skin and is completely made in MED:

Re: Star Trek Phaser - 07/28/07 14:14

seems like a nice model, and a nice low poly count

Nice to see you kept on updating this
Love to see more from this !!

Star Trek Starship Bridge (WIP) - 09/03/07 12:39

And again a new screenshot, this is the bridge (work in progress):

Re: Star Trek Starship Bridge (WIP) - 09/03/07 14:37

The lighting of the phase cannon doesn't look that well, some additional polys and better poly placement could improve that.

The phaser beam is quite thick and looks like a "bar", maybe try to make such kind of laser beam.

The bridge only looks star treck-ish because of the computers and I don't get the feeling being on the enterprise.

Maybe you should stick to the right colors and texturing.

Re: Star Trek Starship Bridge (WIP) - 09/03/07 20:02

i can get you a bridge if you want

Re: Star Trek Starship Bridge (WIP) - 09/04/07 19:19

@ShoreVietam: thanks for the critics,
I'll sure work on it (as you can read: WIP)
I'm not sure about the phaser beam, because in
other star trek games the phasers also are not so thin...

@jigalypuff: Nice offer, but I think I will do it n my own. So I can improve
my skills

...its a long time ago you've heard from this.

now I made a small video:

Re: Star Trek Starship Bridge (WIP) - 11/26/07 21:01

Neat little video, the controls seem dynamic and the level design is good too but maybe abit to static where as on the other side, this could be logic since it's a futuristic style you're attempting to create
Overall, nice work and good to see you kept on updating it

Cheers

Star Trek Starship and Tricorder - 04/12/08 20:18

Hello again,

I made some new models for my Star Trek project:

first a tricorder:

and the starship
"U.S.S. Apache - NCC 71621", a Cheyenne class starship:

I also made a small video of the starship, firing on a borg cube:
http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=f_oS8q7Za7A

the tricorder has got 1116 faces and a 256x256 px skin
and the starship has got 2668 faces and a 512x512 px skin

----------

some comments would be nice ;\)

Re: Star Trek Starship and Tricorder - 04/13/08 21:19

you really should go higer poly with the ship mate, i have some decent trek ship meshs is you`d like them, just pm me. i`d kill to know how you did the phasers, i have treid so hard to get phasers to work but fail constantly, do you have multipile fireing points on the ship? would look very cool if so. the tricorder looks a bit fat i think in the shows they were thiner. but looks good so far. btw if you`d like a host for the game when done i have recently set up a site for trek fan games.
we currently have two tbs games on the go over there.

Re: Star Trek Starship and Tricorder - 04/14/08 17:51

I did not implement firing phasers automatically, yet. In the video I
only put a phaserbeam-model on the ship.
For using it in the game I'll create the model at the position of a vertex
of the starship model

PS: you're right with the tricorder's thickness. Does this look better?
