Looks good not like Need for speed but the cars are good . Maybe in a Town it looked much better as in a Desert.

Looks nice. Track looks alot less detailed than the cars but i guess it's wip right now.

@ratchet: there is countless ways to render flash in-game, i once posted a video at A7 times, it was using a chromium to render flash but, still you had flash working on a terrain texture.

Just amazing. Very good looking wip.
I always wanted to know how maps made for race games. Is it one huge map ?

Do u plan damage models for the cars ?

it says right on it the assets are made with flash but rendered in 3dgs. He just used flash I'm guessing because vector drawing makes button design easier. im guessing he just ported it as a png or something like that.

we are a team (about 12 person) 4 fulltime and 8 halftime
and about flash: in this game we made a dll for A8 that:
1-rendered a swf scene and send it as a texture to engine
2-send mouse and keyboard to flash
3-set and get variables in flash
4-flash can run gs functions

menu is made fully in flash.it had many advantage for us because we hired a flash designer and he can implement the menu completely without knowing about engine
if some one need this dll send me a pm

no,we divide level to some parts. but because of gamestudio lighting system,we have so many problem to have a good looking level.
in this version we don't have damage system

Thats why iam asking grin my guess was that u split the maps, hard job with the lightning youre right.

May i ask what your framerate is on full game action ?

about 30 fps on a medium computer.
for setting lights we had many problem because level shader and objects shaders and car shaders must be sync.
finally,we made some shader (with different elements) that can produce same color and light for all objects in game by sun color and light in level

and there is a postprocess shader that add brightness/contrast/saturations to final scene .

lights and memory management is hardest part of project.
we have 10 cars and each has 4 body kit and each has 6 bodypaints so there are 10*4*6=240 bodypaints in 2048*2048 pixels. user can see all cars with all bodypaints in menu
we have 10 tracks that each has 20 loading image at 1280*800 and 20 information image at 1024*768 so 10*40=400 images
and there is many texture for levels

we have a career with 45 level that has different type race and AI skills.

in test time, when you test some levels , every thing is ok ,the problem occur when you try to play 45 levels.it means for each race you have to go to menu (select career level and car and other information) and then go to level and play Game.

we spent about 3 month to solve problems and errors.

really cool project, good luck for finishing it! the cars are great, I like the desert scenes and the detail objects, fortunately it is more fps friendly than a jungle like environment laugh
maybe you could choose a music with a bit of local taste, e.g. an Iranian folk-metal.
