Bumpmapping Combined with Specular help. - 03/02/04 09:10

I'm using Drew mania's Bumpmapping Code, the results are pretty good,
but i want shinyness to it, like DOOM3 Halo, etc.
How do u combine Specular with Bumpmapping?

I tried doing a second pass, but all it did was nothing.
Just showed the same effect. Or maybe i'm doing something wrong.
Can someone post up an example of how to do 2 passes?

i used a second pass here . its outcommented but its working. i am NOT sure about the stream 0 or 1... cause i got different results, but i think it has to be another pass (like p1 and so on) but stream 0 all the time. maybe this helps u

Ill try that, thanx Ello. Anywaiz. Have anyof u heard of the
new texturing technique by Building the mesh in High poly,
then aplying da texture over it. Then Rendering the textured
model to "Render to Textures" and using the texture on the same
model, but lower poly. I heard it gives it a more realistic
look and then applying bumps to it.its bêen done with DÖom 3 and Hl 2

@ChrispiZ
This is not that new.

Build a usual highres mesh/character with all kind of textures. From the highpoly model build an lowpolymodel and applay some new texturecoordinates to it. After that use your renderplugin and bake the informations from the highres to the lowres model. If you thinking about the "Render to texture" way from 3dsmax-this give you not really a that good result. Try a plugin like Kaldera from Mankua for this-it works amzing and was developed for this work.
