ShaderWorks - 02/09/05 17:46

This is a great app for creating shaders in realtime, with little or no programming.

Re: ShaderWorks - 02/09/05 21:39

I think it is a nice piece of software, but the site isn't updated since february 23, 2004. The latest news is from December 23, 2003. The communityforum isn't active either, there is only one post made in 2005. So I think development of this software has come to a stop.

AAgh.. um, I just tried to export it...
"Coming soon"

damn.

It still writes you the code, so you probably will be able to do something with it.

do you think that the .fx files output will be directly usable in 3dGS ???

Re: ShaderWorks - 02/10/05 04:23

Im still new to shaders, but from what ive read, you can access .fx files through c-script...

Can I copy the code and compile it in another program?
What program?

Thanx

ANYONE? In what program should I write shaders?
And in this case, in what program should I compile the code written by ShaderWorks?

use sed or notepad to write shaders

Re: ShaderWorks - 02/15/05 12:55

Notepad is probably the best thing to use, but to program shaders your going to need to know HSL or something, definitly not and easy programming language. You should also look into FX files and how they work.

Re: ShaderWorks - 02/15/05 16:25

well, its easier than c-script due to it has less instructions. however, the mathematics behind are the most difficulty with it - thats what i think about it

btw, i emailed them, but didnt get response yet... :P

Re: ShaderWorks - 02/15/05 16:39

From what I understand from the above posts, I copied the code into notepad and saved it as a .fx file. Can I email it to you so you can test it or something? Ive only got A6 standard at the moment.
