I ran into this site the other day , and find it really great for textures.
http://www.cgtextures.com/The textures are very high quality and you can download up to 15 MB of textures per day , and you can use them for personal or commercial use.

Yes, the site is great. I used some of their pictures as references and painted similar textures for my last pack (just compare the containers as an example).
But using pure photo-textures is difficult. Often there is wrong contrast. You have some lighting applied and you cannot create normal and height maps from them. So you are forced to create old-school contents with it.
