Vista problem: AUM .chm does not show pages

Hi, when I want to open the newest AUM file on my Vista PC
it does not show the pages (the program can not find them,
"adress invalid")

However it works on my XP system.

Anyone has this problem also?

No, have 3 different pc's with vista all of them can read .chm files

It worked after I changed some security settings.
(although the program itself started in both cases)
I HATE Vista!

Anyway, In my Vista it works fine .

because vista obviously blocked a functionality, that ran within the program,
this can lead to many bugs and strange behavior, without beeing obvious.
The security settings in vista make people deactivate them all,
wich is excatly the opposite effect of what they where designed for.

Turn off "User accounts control" and everything will be fine .

@Oxy just learn how to configure vista properly and it should all be fine, i have never had a problem and never had to change any security settings.

I think it depends on in which directory you have the .chm, in some directory it works and in others you must change the vista settings. It works in "c:\program files" I think and it does normally not work when you have it on another hard disk.

I have the same problem. Where are the different security settings in vista? I'll just go through them 1 by 1 if i need to.

Try running it as admin , that way if their is any security problem it will ask your permission

right click->properties->click unlock

there is unlock button near bottom.
