A6 getting info from a web database (e.g. mysql database) - 11/18/11 23:41

Hi
iīve been off for a while and lately i got some ideas but i need to know something.
I have A6 standard version and i wonder if there is any way or plugin that i could use to connect my local 'game' into a web database hosted in whatever and retrieve information from that database.

Is that possible?

Thanks in adv!

Well, I think there might have been a real mySQL-plugin, but I don't know what happened to that. Also, maybe a security-problem?

What I *do* know, however, is that peacekeeper's site has a GSHTTP-plugin. With that, you can send and receive Post and Get-requests. Then, you do the actual processing on the server. That makes it possible for you to check input there to guard against harmful stuff.

Hmmm I see, I remember long time ago a plugin called A6mysql.dll
but i canīt find to donwload it anywhere.
Is it about this one you were talking about? with the security issues?

thanks

Could be - I never used it.
Personally, I still think the GSHTTP-solution would work better and be more secure. laugh - I mean, that is what I'm using myself.
