CityEngine, an Urbana tool - 10/13/08 00:18

saw and reading up about this
in a 3D Graphics magazine over at Borders bookstore.

Looks really cool. You can create, generate urban enviroments. I just wonder if you can use them in 3D Game Studio.

Yes,you can use the objects created from the software in any Engine....I have tried with few already and works fine.files can be imported without problems into all common 3D applications such as Maya, XSI, Cinema 4D, MAX, Houdini, Lightwave, PolyTrans or Deep Exploration.

I know this and it works.

hey, thanks lionclaws.

This CityEngine has been out for awhile.
But the first time I heard or read up about it was a few days over at the bookstore.
I should be reading more on 3d graphics and some of these 3d graphic magazines too.

huh, they have Houdini?
I wonder if they have a corresponding Blackstone wink

Hahaha!...Yeah!. The only issue I have with that Software is the "Licensing Price".I think it's too high for any (Indie)game developer.I am not sure what other capabilities apart from "included import/export plugins".

yeah, its the prices and licensing fees.
I kinda sensed that, when I was reading about CityEngine in the 3d graphics magazine.
The same thing with the LawMaker game engine.
Looked pretty cool and I liked it, but got cautious and suspious when you had to contact the company about downloading a trial version and also for pricing. Tells me something that the price is too high and/or the product is over hyped.

Well, at least there is a trial version to use for CityEngine.
