Ich lads ma runter...

@Ventilator

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 11/24/09 22:38

Hast du schon rausgefunden wie man die einzelnen views wieder joinen kann?
Wie man nen extra view für beispielsweise den UV Editor bekommt weiss ich, aber wie bekomm ich den wieder weg?

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 11/24/09 23:04

Ah okay habs gefunden... Einfach in der Ecke wo man nen neuen View erstellt mit linker Maustaste gedrück halten und in den anderen View ziehen...

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 11/25/09 18:12

uh... why isn't the exporter compatible? the .blend format is always compatible, isn't it? but the plugin isn't?

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 11/25/09 18:22

python scripts will need adaptations for blender 2.5 because of python 3.1 and because of blender's completely new python API. ...but there also is a bright side... it will be possible to do a much nicer integration into the user interface.

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 11/25/09 18:46

ok, sounds good. I'd be real interested in such a new exporter. I've always used it together with blender for pretty much every model I made for 3dgs in the last 2 or 3 years.

Started trying blender 2.5, and I'm loving it already. the Interface is much, much better, though it'll take time getting used to, and I can't exactly say why I like it so much better. but it IS better. and it looks better as well.

Big Big tool and FREE laugh

Animation once you've learned how works armature , weight paint and action editor is so easy and powerfull.

Yeah , the new interface will now bring lot more people on this fantastic FREE tool !

I tested it and it is progressing well , some points i've noted :
-Even with new icons and some new tool system , 3D mode, action mode etc ... are the same to choose
-Weight paint is not implemented
- Where is the display option for bones (X ray) didn't find anything
- WHRE IS THE 3D GIZMO ? i like it a lot and work with it exclusively (i hope they will do like Silo Gizmo : Universal manipulator ??)

Well , a pleasure for the eyes laugh !
Great and great, waiting next release !

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 11/25/09 23:17

all of that is already there. i am sure you will find everything if you look more carefully. tongue

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 11/25/09 23:37

Sorry , i've checked the manipulator under user preferences window, bu it doesn't appear ?
Or i'm blind laugh ?

If the option is here , i've sused Blender from years and know some good parts of it, i can't imagine for a Blender beginner how difficult it will be to find simple things !
(Where is the lovely GIZMO laugh ?)
OK fond it : you have to click on the axes icon !
Well it should be displayed by default !

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 12/18/09 08:43

the overhauled sculpting mode is awesome:

http://www.blendernation.com/blender-sculpt-demo-45-million-polygons/

http://www.blender.org/development/release-logs/blender-250/sculpt-and-multiresolution/

and a video of the better bullet integration:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZ9dG9FeV4w

no need anymore for taking a detour to the game engine for physics baking...

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 12/18/09 13:26

wicked.
in the sculpting vid it seems as if the rake is a little slow sometimes... I dunno... seems to make working a little... less fun?
Also, rather than seeing only the new featurs I'd have liked to see how he actually made that great castle:)
Other than that: loving blender 2.5!

This new version of Blender realy good, design is eye candy (about hour can not tear myself away), file manager has become more convenient, customizable interface.

Did you see this graph? It is called the "Blender 2.5 Series Roadmap":

Does it mean it takes forever to finish 2.5? They are working since 2007 and there is just something around 10-20 percent finished. And why does the 2.5 roadmap end with a version 2.6 after all alpha and beta stages are done?

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 12/25/09 16:37

So they jump directly from 2.5 beta 4 to 2.6 (without having a stable 2.5 first)?

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 12/25/09 16:45

Although it might be all beta, they are working along with these betas producing an animation movie, so I'm not concerned about whether they call it beta, or whatever, it seems always to be a sort of version that one can use to work with.

But, I'm still exploring the tool, and I'm still far from using all features of version 2.49b.

(Just bought this DVD: http://www.venomgfx.com.ar/lab/ delighted by the following video http://vimeo.com/5184346 - probably already posted somewhere in these forums. Pablo Vazquez seems to be an extremely nice guy and is a gifted artist.)

mikaldinho,
you have to be strong, now! Very strong! But, almost 15.000 members of these forums tried it, and it isn't impossible to reach that state of strength:

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 02/19/10 19:02

OK, i have tested blender 2.5 alpha-1 and all the bugs (bugs i know from alpha-0) are fixed laugh. Now i'll continue my 3d-artwork
Posted By: mikaldinho

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 02/19/10 19:04

i like to do 3d artwork, but i dont understand how to make lowpoly things. i have noticed many peopple talk about lowpoly but i just dont get it. i know what it is, but i dont understand what is so good.

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 02/19/10 19:07

Less Polys = more FPS ?!
Posted By: mikaldinho

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 02/19/10 19:09

ok.
Posted By: ratchet

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 02/19/10 22:20

But it remains the top notch tool for low poly modeling and animation for me.
An it's free.

I've tested the sculpt mode :
good improvments , but
it 's very slow when you subdivide, or if you drag the brush over your model quickly : Blendre freezes caus it is calculating what vertex shoud be moved !
Far away from Zbrush speed and power caus it's not a tool
optimised specially for that only.
If you plan to do high level sculpting , it can't compare to 3D Coat or Zbrush and this is simply not the appropriate tool !
Juts my opinion.

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 02/19/10 23:12

it doesn't freeze for me and is very fluid for sculpting. the new poly counts i can reach are awesome and easily enough for me. no need for zbrush at all.

the new indirect lighting is nice too.

once bmesh will get merged in, blender will totally rock! laugh

@frank: alpha and beta versions usually come towards the end of a project. the graph doesn't mean that only 20% of blender 2.5 are done.

Re: Blender 2.5 (alpha) -maybe released today - 02/20/10 08:21

Yes, the speed of the sculpting mode from version 2.49 to 2.5 alpha-1 is awesome!
Maibe not the speed of zbrush (I've never tested zbrush) but good enough to create great sculpted models.

not bad. I realy like the animations. But i don't like the character-style. But the the dvd durian/sintel will be great, i am shure. To learn how to model, animate, render movies/szenes in a professional quality using blender 2.5... i will buy this dvd for shure!

Wow. It looks oh-so-cinematic. Bits and pieces look like they should be better (higher-resolution, more realistic lighting, or whatever) by today's standards, but considering they're not Dreamworks or Pixar, this looks just fantastic.
