[non-paid] Helping hands for :Schutzkontakt - 01/23/09 13:15

You might know project ":Schutzkontakt".

In short:
:Schutzkontakt is a storydriven "thirty minutes shooter".

You are a channel digger and you have to check an old channel sector.
After an accident you wake up in a dark, ominous laboratory.
Your goal is to get out of here.
While you move on, you´ll become a puppet of different organisations.

Character Models:
Although I´m able to get a lot of stuff done actually, I suffer
when it comes to character modelling.
Basically I can do all animations and textures, but not the modelling itself.
As a first task, I would need a robot, similar to the marine model, that comes with the shader viewer, and a set of "hands" with gloves for the player character (1st person view).
After that it would be nice to have a female avatar for the radio device (only Head & Shoulders with the ability to animate mimik through bones).
Again: I can do all animations, the rigging and texturing.

HLSL Guru:
Task: Enhance GS standard specular mapping with specular maps.

Female (!) speaker:
For the messages of the radio device.
The records must be absolutely noiseless and in high quality.

With these additional helpers I would be able to finish the first demo in a relative short timeframe (~ two / three months)

I have no commercial intentions for :Schutzkontakt.
It serves simply as a test if the whole concept of
a "30 minutes shooter" is applicable.

When it comes out to be a good concept, I want to start a small series of "30 minute shooters".

Would be nice to hear from you.
If you´ve questions, please ask.
Let´s rock A7. wink

I´ve finished three projects so far, two of them were commercial.
So take the chance to be a part of a realistic, yet ambitious project.

To give you an impression of the progress, I´ve launched a developer blog.
Unfortunately it´s only available in german, but it will give you at least an overview:

"RedPhoenix" has joined as "HLSL Guru".
If everything works out, expect a better specular normalmap shader included in the standard GS shader system. It will use
a specularmap insteat of a fixed value.

"Aztec" has joined as object modeler. cool

I´m urgently in need of a german female speaker.

The gameplay and the general atmo of the first level is finished!
But it will enhance its impression about 50% with a speaker.

Thank you all!
Found a female Speaker!

The last thing would be a humanoid robot, and be surprised, I got even a perfect picture for you:

Of course this is very lowpoly. It should be a lot more detailed,
similar to the "Space Marine" model in the Shaderviewer of 3dgs.
But is puts the whole concept of the robot in a nutshell.
A humanoid, slim "skeleton like" robot, built at 1970 - 1980.
Every bodypart has to be an own mesh, with some sort of joints between them.
He don´t need any weapon atm.
I´ll do the rigging and the animations and I can do the texturing, too.

If you want to do the texturing, he´ll need a dirty and very rusty texture based on photos
of old (1960 - 1980) electronic elements.
It should include a normal map and a specular map as well.

Edit: Take a look at the german :schutzkontakt developer blog and you can see that the project grows nicely.

Yeah, would be very nice!
Polycount would be max. 5000 Polys
(if they are really necessary in your concept to get nice details)
