I have a pretty simple and probably stupid question... how can i create maps?

I know that the map-editor for the .wmb files is not included, but i read that .map files are accepted by lite-c, so i created a little map for testing with the valve hammer editor, but as answer i got "test.map: bad format"
so what am i supposed to do?

You can use Hammer as a map editor for A7?

where did you read about the .map format?

The same happened to me with an .hmp editor, aparently, the format is the same, but the programing requiered differs. So the editors can load it, but cant execute it. You can see a kind of an explanation on the wiki, in the format menu.

Also, you can edit maps in MED, file- new terrain
and in WED, with the latest version.
select the terrain to edit, and click [Scope Down]. A terrain editor panel will open that gives access to a magnet tool for shaping hills and valleys (moved from experimental to production state).
