Zorro GUI

Zorro GUI - 10/25/13 09:56

Hi,

the Zorro GUI is very minimalistic and the messages window a little small when you think that it gives you infos about your real money it trades with...

But one thing that also needs a fix is the 'Script' selection. When i have many versions of a strategy which begins with the same letters i only see the first ~18 letters. When those are the same I can't differentiate between different scripts. Even when moving the mouse over a scriptname it won't show the name as a hint.

Would be nice to see a change here...

Hey Sundance,
this little tool might help: http://www.digitallis.co.uk/pc/ResizeEnable/
I tested it with Zorro and it does let you stretch the box as big as you want.

We can add a resize border to a future Zorro version.

Would anyone else appreciate it if the script selection box had some/most of the data below from the last test run listed beside the script name. Maybe I've a bad memory or my script development tracking system is too cumbersome.

Hi dusk,

thanks for the link!

Thanks also. The script selection has frustrated me as well, including that it nukes the existing script name as soon as the pull down is hit, and the lack of subfolder support... Perhaps changing it to the Windows Open dialog would be better? Would also add date sort, to enable putting the most recently worked-on scripts at the top...

Thanks.

Subfolder support for the scripts is something I also hope they will fix for a future Zorro version..

Re: Zorro GUI - 11/04/13 12:57

The disappearing script name is some ugly effect of the Windows MFC, but there will be a workaround in the next Zorro update - it should then not happen anymore.

Re: Zorro GUI - 11/04/13 13:12

It is more or less ready, we just need to make some modifications and generate new parameter sets for Z3 and Z12, which will take a couple days.

On the Zorro GUI, just thought I would mention that using MT4 as a chart terminal, as mentioned in Features Planned for Zorro, would be really good. Not just for zooming in and checking code logic, but possible using signal processing functions in discretionary chart trading. It has my vote, though not urgent.
