Game Templates - Next - 06/29/07 22:27

Hi

I think the next template should be

"Advanced AI - intelligent tracking and pathfinding."

Now that "IntenseX" as stopped, I think this is one of the most important things for 3DGS.

A system that is coded in lite-C that can be plugged in to most games would be GREAT!

I game without AI is no game at all.

Just so you know Larry posted today and confirmed IX is not stopped and in fact has been completed.

I do agree that it would be cool for Conitec to also build some AI into A7, but as it's already listed on the forecast as a high priority I think they are already doing their best to make this happen.

Mmmm, but if it were finished it would have been out for customers to buy.

Still, moving from the US to Greece obviously caused this delay, so it's probably not entirely his fault, along with the fact that the other guy he was working with went to Cannes (I think?) and couldn't be of any help either. If he had a team behind it, it would have been a different story altogether,

Cheers

I think they have enough on their plates with existing templates and lite-c already.

While it would be cool for the templates to do this, not everyone will needs or uses it. Thus it's time taken away from other development or fine tuning that everyone can use. I say get the templates they have up and running and good and THEN start adding really complicated stuff like AI.

@PHeMoX

I think Larry means the code is complete for the Pro version -proven by the fact he used it to create the Mother's Den demo, but he still has to break it down to the various versions and do the documentation,tutorials and Q/A.

My point was as Larry has finished all the code the project is very unlikely to stop, which was what the original post in this thread was concerned with.
