SED suggestions - 01/26/11 22:04

Some of these (not all that I have in mind, but ones that I can see to be inplemented easily and be helpfull)

1. Allow tabs to be closed by clicking them with middle mouse button. I am sure that this is not hard to add in, and it is present in majority of software packages, which include dealing with viewing\editing content in tabs.

2. Fix 'tab window' captions. 'Window' menu shows (at least for me) items with index, but without a caption. Same thing happens when 'minimizing tabs to windows', noone of these have a caption. A filename or filepath would be nice to see here.

3. (Maybe,) Allow smooth scrolling. That is, scrolling tab content (code in this case) by pressing and holding middle mouse button, and moving mouse cursor outside specific range to point direction. This would make scrolling through large script files easier.

4. Allow resizing Open\Save dialogues. Searching for a file in a small window can be tricky sometimes.

Have a nice day.

on the subject of SED, I've been meaning to request a feature for a while now that is similar to notepad++'s ability to have separate windows or panels. Useful for editing more than one script at a time, and works better than the "floating" tabs.

A sort of bump.

Suggestions 1 and 4 have no impact on existing functionality and should take from 5 to 20 minutes to add in depending on current implementation of controls in editor.

Is it that hard to reach small things in 8 months?

No, those are reasonable suggestions. Unlike the engine, which is in constant development, SED only gets updated periodically, like once every year. I've put those suggestions on my list for the next SED update.
