Train strategy on another VPS

Hi.

I wanted to train Z12s on my Amazon VPS. But after 11 hours the training is still not finished at it seems it would need another two days :-)

So. Is there a possibility of training Z12s on my local computer and then transfer the calculated results to my VPS ?

Yes, you can train the system at home - in fact it's recommended to do that on the fastest PC available.

First use the download script to get your historic price data files up to date. Before doing that, delete the EUR/USD and AUD/USD 2013 data files. They had bad data, but that was corrected meanwhile by FXCM.

When all is up to date, train it, and copy the .fac and .par files to the VPS.

I see that it really takes many hours for training.....

I just tried to train Z12s on my local PC with 8 cores but i see it only uses 1 core of it...
I don't know if it is on the ToDo list but i would recommend multicore support for training.

Is the training same as machine learning ?

Time to finish training depends on your CPU but you don't need to train at the beginning when there is a new release version of Z12.

Although the machine also learns through training, the term "machine learning" normally refers to artificial intelligence functions, such as here: http://manual.zorro-trader.com/advisor.htm

I forgot to mention: for re-training a Z system, you do not need to train the full strategy, but only the last WFO cycle - use the "-train strategyname" command line option for this. This is much faster than training all cycles.
