lite c decal shadow bug? - 07/04/09 05:06

in lite c i have models that use decal shdows(shadow_stencil=0)
and it works fine when level is loaded but if these models are beyond clip_far range the shadows are clipped , all good so far .
now when the models are back in range , any range even right up close to the cam , the shadows do not return. is this a bug?

btw , im useing 1.70

This sounds indeed like a bug. We'll check.

We could not confirm this problem in our test levels. Please make sure that you have the current version. If the problem then still occurs, we'd need a level where this happens - please send it to support (at) 3dgamestudio.net.

There is another issue similar to this. Im making a game in which you control a ball and ive given decal shadows as an option for low end pcs.The problem is that when the ball is too fast the decal shadows appear a bit away from the ball(they are not able to catch up with the velocity of the ball). It returns to normal when the ball stops though.

Any suggestions to this would be highly appreciated.

You're probably using Physics for the ball. Indeed the decal shadow could then be one frame behind the ball position. We'll look into this and check if this can be fixed.

This is however unrelated to the original bug report, which is still unconfirmed. Without an example we can't reproduce the problem.

Yes i am using the physics engine to control the ball.If there could be a soln to this it would be great..!!..
