love it i've been thinking about doing similar stuff with realistic looking characters, but still haven't gotten round to it.

makes for very natural animations

EDIT: hidden part is probably the most fun. i enjoy watching them try to recover.

Wow, that's cool, funny and interesting concept I wonder how it is done though

Yes, it looks like they are really drunken.
I think he has written some sort of "balance" AI that rotates and moves the ragdoll parts through forces.
There is a small readme in the folder, youīve to open it with the editor or a similar programm.

Re: Ragdoll AI - 01/09/08 16:55

I guess he used a trained neural Net, to balance the bot (let it stand up, walk etc)

Neural net data is very small, but can incorporate complex calculations.

hey, damocles, since you understand that stuff, go go go and create one for us, please

Re: Ragdoll AI - 01/09/08 19:08

I guess that's really complicated video with a bug-like creature learning to walk amazed me when i first saw it, and that one is even more impressive

Amazing!
@ Shadow969, Do you still have that link?

Re: Ragdoll AI - 01/09/08 23:13

If someone can create me a sumoringer with physics, where I can manipulate the
"ragdollfigure" with forces, I can write a neural net AI to make it move.

Thanks but cant locate codec to play it, is it Dvx or Xvid?

Re: Ragdoll AI - 01/10/08 00:04

There's a discussion about this mysterious codec on the forum(first link). I didn't have any problems watching it though.

Re: Ragdoll AI - 01/10/08 13:28

it would be funny too if we had more guys in the AI theme to make a contest with who would make the best somuringer net, which is just a question of inputs the number of neurons and the mutantion rate etc.
