Free MMO's - 12/26/09 02:36

Hey, was looking up some new MMORPGs to play and I think I found a couple good ones that I wanted to share with the Gstudio peeps.

1) 4Story - This is the most recent and by far the best free MMO I have played...It's exactly like WoW in everyway =]

2)Anarchy Online - Started to play this a couple of months ago, really fun at first, but got bored and confused at what to do after a while

3)Guild Wars - I know its not really free, but at least its not a pay2play one. Been playing GW for like 4 years, and had an awesome time doing it =P. Special Events and Contests were always well planned out and really fun.

I was also wondering what other MMOs people have been playing. And if any of you play 4Story, my name is Beastlyman <- be sure to friend me =D

-- Free, spare donations

Rose Online - 3D Fantasy RPG, successor of Ragnarok Online, but left abandoned by Gravity. There are a few personal servers of which AruaRose is the biggest, and keeps throwing in new fun quests, landscapes, ...

Trackmania Nations Forever - 3D Modern Racing, race with dozens of players simultaneously. It's fast and fun. No player-to-player collision tongue.

SDF MUD - Text Fantasy/Medieval Adventure, multi user dungeon on sverige.freeshell.org port 4000. You need a telnet client to access. Not much players nowadays, sadly.

-- With optional payments (no x days trials)

Star Sonata - 2D (Topview) SciFi RPG, dynamic universe, create bases, buy ships, drones, quests, do whatever you wish. Additional payment required if you want to advance further.

Ferion - Browser SciFi TBS, play in arenas where the winners receive prices. Conquer worlds, build, explore and develop technology. Additional payment required if you want to make a chance on winning.

SFU Unification Wars - Browser SciFi TBS, conquer as much worlds as possible, develop technology, defences, assaults and form alliances. Payment required for unlocking certain races.

Gekkeiju Online: http://gekkeijuonline.com - further proof that lone wolves CAN dev a mmo. Currently in its like 5th incarnation's beta (actually publicly closed until dec 31st since she (yes the designer is also a girl) shut down the old world until she is releasing the new beta publicly. Luckily I have contributed to the game and am fairly well known in the game so I got the closed beta invite. It's also nice because its very tweakable and in order to play (decent) you need to be a little smarter than your typical mmo player. Graphics aren't great but they are getting better. Made with Irrlicht and Raknet.

A female lonewolf coded an MMO? When will you tell us she's also used 3dgs and is 13 years old? grin

lol, most people don't catch that grin

also ironically when I posted that it is up, it went down for maintenance for a little bit so it might be a few minutes (lots of small updates since the new beta version just came out)
