some problems with the script ( F11 and fullscreen mode)

i was working on my project on the free lite-c version. i couldn't access fullscreen mode and when i pressed F11 the information that usually shows doesn't. i thought this was just because of the lite-c version, but i recently got the commercial version and when i transfered my game to that and tried F11 and fullscrean, it still didn't work. i looked in the manual(that came with the program) and i copy exactly what it says for the fullscreen. i am working on a laptop running vista, is this why. but for whatever reason is there a way to get these features back? or am i screwed on my current computer.
