blocks and shadows

hello

Blocks do not cast static shadows on a terrain in WED
Normally I used blocks also for the ground
How can I get them ?

How can I cast static shadows of blocks on a terrain ?
Is it impossible or is it a so simple task that I dont deserve even an answer
