Wii Mote support?!?!?

Wii Mote support?!?!? - 05/13/09 12:44

Hello everybody.
I was browsing on the 3D GameStudio website when I chanced upon the news section. Reading it, I saw that, in an update, GameStudio had been given Wii Mote Support. However, what confuses me is that, in a previous post, I was told it was impossible to deploy games on a console with 3D GameStudio. So I do not understand how GameStudio cans support a video game controller without supporting its console! Can anyone clarify this for me?

whell the infrared port
you need to buy 2 led infrared (if I renember whell less 10 cent)
and put a battery or conect to a transformator or make a cable with the usb (5v have the usb)
or take a wii sensor bar and put to the transformator (adaptor for pass 110V to little volts '1 to 12V the universals')
but the wii sensor not are cheap
probably you can by a not official

and the same of the wii
under or over the lcd

appear if work with also with two candles (emit infrared ligt)
but probably with the time is more expensive

you can move the cursor if you use the infrared bar

motion support: If you refer if you move rapidly the wiimote
appear the driver support all the funtions of wiimote
all depent of the software you use

Any bluetooh adaptor work, personally i have the concentronic
CBT200U2 is old but support bluetooh 2.0 and a distance of 100m

Re: Wii Mote support?!?!? - 05/14/09 09:11

OH wait i think i dont know that..

The IR bar is emmiting infrared, so the detector is the wiimote not the ir Bar :h LOOl though it was the reverse..

So who is the detector? the remote or the bar with the leds?

Re: Wii Mote support?!?!? - 05/14/09 09:51

The wiimote is the sensor and the infrared bar is the emit
the wiimote use a black and white webcam of low resolution
sensible to infrared light

you can se the led in the config of the wii
where you can up the power of bar

Ready made IRs for Wii - 08/06/09 00:39

Look for a Wireless Wii IR Stick.
It's 2 IRs w/ battery power.
You can usually find one right now at GameStop or used on eBay.

The Wireless Sensor Bar from NYKO is supposed to be pretty good.

i can only say i use bluesoleil and i can connect to balanceboard and too wiitmote. how to use balanceboard and wiimote in the script is explained in the manual in one example. if u want to use the balanceboard, you need to look in ackwii.h. the wiimote struct has a BOARD struct. the board struct consits of 4 vars: topright, topleft, botright, botleft. they tell you how much kg is for example on the top right corner sensor. i made the 19. workshop example already balanceboard compatible.

Re: Wii Mote support?!?!? - 08/14/09 01:25

You don't plug the IR in. It's only on when you're running the Wii.
That's the problem. You need an IR that's on all the time. You can buy a "Wireless Wii Sensor Bar" from NYKO at any GameStop. It's 2 IRs powered by batteries and works up to 20 - 25 feet.

The other unanswered quetion you had:
Q: "How do I get the Balance Board to connect?"
A: You have to mount it the same way you did the Wiimote. Open the lid on the battery panel on the bottom of the Balance Board and push the red button to get it to show up as a bluetooth device. You don't neccesarily have to have the Wiimote connected first to do so.

You don't need GlovePIE at all if you already have a succesful connection going and have figured out how to get the Wiimote to work. That's is simply adding yet another level of abstraction between you and what you are trying to accomplish. Plus you are expected to drop everything and learn yet another scripting language to use it.
But there seems to be plenty of websites out there insinuating that it's the only way to connect your Wii to the PC.
Actually there is another way. It's called Gamestudio using ackwii laugh

As long as your Bluetooth is connecting you should be in the clear. For those who can't get the Bluetooth to connect, GlovePIE is not going to fix that. Check the list of compatible Bluetooth devices on Wii Homebrew

I saw a broacast on Swiss television the other day where they claimed that if your WII's IR emitter dies on you, you can just replace it by putting two small candles on top of the television! grin like the small candles they put in restaurants to set the mood.

When the candles are burning, they produce visible and also infrared light, which the Wii peripheral can detect. It's waaaaay cheaper than buying new IR emitters.

Just make sure that young children do not tip them over and set the house on fire.

I haven't tried it personally though... but it might be worth the try.
