Is there a way to have a limit on my.pan?

Is there a way to have a limit on how fast my.pan can change. Sort of like a max turn rate for my plane. Thanks and I use Lite-C!

my.pan += clamp(your default pan increase, negative limit, positive limit)*time_step;
