Map entities lighting question - 07/26/14 20:07

Hello, everyone

I've got a question:

Does the map entity receive the sun light values of the level it was put in? Or I should assign the same values of sun for the map entity (in WED) to match the 'big' level lighting?

In other words, if I made a map entity (elevator, door, ... etc.) ,then I put it in a level ,what should I do to make it receive lighting 'normaly'?

For example:

1) I put that map entity in WED and it was like that:

2) But when testing my level in the engine ,it looked like that:

Thank you and any help would be appreciated laugh

You're supposed to place the block in the level where youd like it, and add the lights around it as normal. once you're satisfied with the lighting, save your project, 'delete everything but the lights that effect the block your turning into a map entity, and the block' then save it as SOMETHING ELSE. Build, and then load the map entity into place, in your full level.

EDIT: You can also set it to UNLIT, and change its ambient albedo.

You mean, I should put the block (supposed to be the map entity) in the big level ,then deleting everything except that block (leaving some lights will do also) and saving that as another file with another name ,then compiling it such that it looks 'appropriate' when adding it to the big level?
