OLD DEMO

Why is current download GS demo so OLD ? Will be updated new 6.4 demo?

Don't know why, but the test version normally is only for testing developing with GS, so with this version you aren't allowed to present your application commercial. If you see that the Test Version is great, then you can firstly buy the standard Edition and later maybe you will upgrade to commercial edition if the program is fantastic.

Hmm ... really ... i need present NEW FEATURES not old LIGHTING, old texture MAPPING, incorrect stencil shadows, etc. Publisher need see content and visual potencial of game.

Then MAYBE you SHOULD consider YOURSELF of BUYING the 3DGS as soon as POSSIBLE as it is YET NOT possible to PUBLISH a game with the TRIAL version of 3DGS

He's just asking why the current demo (trial version I'm assuming) is so old. The reason was because core components of the engine were changed to allow for faster updates. Yes, it's been 16 1/2 months since the last release. It now seems that the 6.4 release is right around the corner which means that the trial version will also likely be upgraded as well.

If you get any edition, you will first have 6.31, the current public release. 6.4 is only a public beta. Beta releases have bugs in them, but 6.40.2 doesn't have much in the way of bugs (MED crashes when you pass 16 groups though, but otherwise nothing major). If you want Extra edition, you can get it. You can later upgrade your edition if you want (such as going to A6 Com, the edition I have). All you need to use 6.40.2 is to download the update in the updates and announcements forum and use the username and password provided to you when you buy 3DGS to access it. Do note that it does take some time to process orders and even more time if you go with mail delivery.

There are enough demos/screens around here, to show what 3dGS is capable of.
The decision with an outdated trial might also be linked to piracy problems,
Such that a possible crack of the trial wont make the newest features available.

The trial is version 6.31, there is no newer official version. When 6.4 is officially released there will probably be a new trial.
