it seems that in MED i can only scale in 1 or 2 dimensions at a time, and not 3. is there any way to scale all 3 dimensions equally at the same time? i want to enlarge my entire entity without distorting it.

thanks,

1) select the scaling tool
2) select everything you want to scale
3) click and drag on any part of the selected area in the 3D view

Thats how you equally scale all selected areas, in the x, y, and z directions, in MED.

i'm pretty sure i've tried that alot (i can't try again at the moment as i'm at school), and from what i can see you can only select 2 dimensions at once. or is the difference that you click and drag on the actual selected part as opposed to those funky littly squares and arrows?

thanks for the quick reply, i'll try that when i get home.

Select all faces,
make sure the move restriction button is set to the crossed lines ( unrestricted)
DON'T mouse over the arrows or the right angled shape between the 2 arrows
then left click and drag your mouse up and down to scale the entire model evenly

highlighitng/mousing over one of the arrows, left clicking and dragging will cuase the model to scale along the axis parallel to that arrow.

highlighting and left click dragging on the right angle between the 2 arrows will cause the model to scale along those 2 ( axis) axis direction but not the 3rd axis.

the arrows and right angle have similar behavior with other tools, such as moving, rotation. makes it easier for both modeling a mesh and animating

okay, thank you guys. i already understood about all the arrows and right angle things, but didn't realise the mesh could be scaled in all dimensions by clicking on it.

thanks,
