Hi,

first of all I am an absolute (but dedicated) newbie.
I don't know a lot about scripting, but I did a lot of 3dsm in the past, but making 3d art became boring to me and I wanted to create interactive worlds, just as a hobby. And who knows what will roll out of it someday.

But here's my point, I made a house, just to experiment with WED and its functions. Then I made a terrain but here's the point. Inside the house all the lighting is predicable to me. But I seem to have no control about how the terrain is affected by the lights I place. It is way to light! Even if I haven't placed any lights at all, it stays the same.

I don't ask you guys to give me a step by step tutorial but I really need a few pointers here. Thanks a lot!!

I have A6 Commercial btw...

Someone knows how to solve this?

Hi ! i have only one idea :
you must change the (ambient) at the terrain properties.
for example (-10) or other.
I hope i have helped. (Bad english )

Thanks it works but theres still a little color difference between the texture of the terrain model and the block and I don't know why...
Maybe I should use only the terrain model and no flat block beside of it ^^
(Bad english too )

Thanks this looks a lot better really, but somehow I still have the feeling it should be done differently.

I want lights to really AFFECT my terrain I really have no clue at all about how I should do this.

Like for example sunlight. I set my sunlight in such a way that it lights my house like it would do on a sunny afternoon/evening. And really, the lighting on the house looks great (well for a simple house it does). But the terrain still stays the same.

I'm also a newbie, but I have a little understanding on how MED works, as I am a seasoned modeller. Ambience most definately has an effect on everything, unfortunately, I am not sure as to what the lights in A6 do for textures with different ambient and specular attributes. Maybe this all has to be configured globally. (Heaven forfend! For it is the essence of a great game engine to make all things unique.)
