Ok, I posted this in the starting with GS section, but no one replied, so I figured I'd try here...

I have a switch that operates a gate, but unfortunately you can also walk up to the gate and trigger it with the space bar...

What I am trying to do is get the gate to ONLY be triggered by the switch, which is in another room, and NOT be triggered on the scan sent by the spacebar...

Any ideas?

I am afraid I may have missed something like a flag or a setting in the behavior... But I have looked through it and the manuals countless times and haven't found anything...

It is the a5 templates that I am using for the script, if that helps any.

probably best to post this (or have a moderator move it) to either the scripting section or the past section, or maybe the beginners section (since template problems are usually suffered by beginners).

sorry i can't actually help you out; i have never used the templates except back in the a5 days to walkthrough a level without script (and in that case i would just use a player walking script).

I appreciate it. Yeah I wasn't really sure if it was a scripting issue or if it was something else like a setting somewhere in the editor.

I will keep reading through old posts to see what I can find
