I have had pretty much to do lately... but just for fun i started modelling a character... but i don’t like UV mapping and don’t feel like animating anything right now.. so this is how far i get on this one.
butt plz give some c&c and i will have it in mind when I create my next model some day :]... if any one owns maya 6.0 they can e-mail me if you want to take closer look.
It has 2692 triangles, none skin and no animations, but i think it is optimised for animation.

That's one good looking model.

I like the hood over the face
The stomach/abs look a little messy though.... not sure what's up with those.

not too shabby. a nice skin and some shaders can make this models look pretty good.
thing is, its a bit too blocky. no wonder for 2500 polys. its good work, maybe add some more polys to the upper part, like head, especially the clothing, and the arms...

but decent work

At first glance, before I scrolled or anything I thought it was a Flood from Halo.

Looks pretty cool actually.

first of all i like the concept of the model and you made it quite well.

the only problem i see is the unclean mesh. This will be a hell to animate, unwrap and modify later on.
Also it causes lot of shading problems as you can see. Sure, smoothing groups can handle it a little bit, but this is only hiding the problem not solving it.

with a little more mesh flow (edge loops) it would work a lot better. And on top of that it will help you save a lot of faces.

keep up the good work
and hope to see more soon

cheers

Thanks for the c&c every one :]

but Battsalat... plz explain more about what you meant with the "edge loops". Something like the red markings I maid on this image?... or what is "edge loops"?..

I have tried to optimise the model for animation and shading.. and would be glad to know how to improve it. this image shows more exact how the mesh flow looks. plz edit it and give comments if you find anything you would have done different

(there will probably be no texture or animations because I am not that found of doing those parts and I have no use of the model so I am just going for the fun part.. but who knows what will happen in the future)
