Hello, I am currently working on setting up an online training workshop for teaching 3D low poly modeling techniques for independent game designers. The cost for the 4 week course would be low and I would be seeking a experienced 3D modeler to teach the class for payment.
I have run a few successful online businesses including website promotion so I am very familiar with this area.
This class would be set up using Moodle a full online teaching portal. It includes chat, forum, exercises, quizzes, the whole ball of wax, and a live teacher to ask questions to
The software would be the free edition of DeleD, very good 3D modeling suite and either Paint.net (Free) or if you could not run that, Ultimate Paint (Free Version)
The opinions I need are:
1 - If you wish to learn 3D modeling for games would you consider the class? 2 - The class would be $40.00, at $10.00 per week or a discount of $35.00 at the start of the class. 3 - If you are a 3D artist, would you consider teaching a class at LowPolyWorkshop? Thank you for your opinions, if you have other questions please let me know I'll answer them promptly.
PS-As Im getting alot of views but no responses, please let me reassure you I won't use your post to message or contact you privately. I am just trying to get information if this would be something wanted. Thanks!

I would not be teaching the class, I would be sub-contracting a 3D artist to run the class. I would being doing all Admin, Advertising, Website duties. So I would be seeking teachers as well.

Im encouraged by the amount of views, even though I have gotten little comment so here is what Im going to do. As soon as the websites up I will post again so folks can see exactly what is being offered.
In the mean time however, I am seeking teachers, I have a document that outlines everything in detail that I can email to you. This is a chance to make a little extra money and help people out. So if you have the talent, please PM me and I'll send you the document.
Thank you!

[teacher] your post doesn't say what is expected from a teacher, esp. about the online availability/time he has to be chattable. if it's just about writing tuts/exercises, well, but you say it's "chat, forum, exercises, quizzes, the whole ball of wax, and a live teacher to ask questions to" which makes me unsure.
plus, few of us have worked with DeleD i guess, and everyone uses his favourite modelling application (wings3d, blender on the free, maya, max, lw, ts and c4d on the cost intensive site, whichever the modeller likes [don't even think i know all of these]). so i am already kicked by your choice of modelling programme, which will be similar for many viewers of your post.

Im sorry it does not seem to be making sense to folks, I will try to be more clear. As I said in the last post I have a document that I can send that explains the details of being a teacher for Low Poly Workshop.
As to the software selection, my other choice would be Milkshape, here is why I would ask someone to teach in one program. How can you teach specifics, show a video when the student is not using the same program as the teacher? Its very hard to pick up modeling techinques if the teacher is using a different program then the student.
And if you had to suggest 1 low cost modeling software, and 1 no or low cost art software for the students what would it be?

i'd suggest with wings3d there is NO program out there where you have a steeper learning curve and can have your first good-looking models in less than an hour, including the learning phase. plus, it's free, comes for windows, linux and mac, so everyone can take part. the latest WINGS also does unwrapping and texturing. but wings is only for subdiv box modelling. if you want splines, nurbs and all that advanced stuff, you cannout go around blender or an expensive programme. milkshape is good for the animation basics, but the modelling functions of are rather slow and require a lot of patience. uv mapping sucks, wings can do so much better for you.
