I have done smoe searches on this, aint can't find what I am looking for. I am sure it has already been discussed and everything, but I can't find it..if you know where it is, a link will be fine,,if not here is what I am trying to do.

I am trying to make an updater. I want a person who downloads my game to be able to log into some server, and be able to download an update for the game. I don't want them to have to go to a website and download a file, but rather I want the game to check for any updates from a server, and if there is an update, go ahead and download and install the update...Like EQ I and II, WoW, and the like. thanks for any help you can send my way.

Yes something just like that....but does not ask you if you want to download. When you start the game the patcher (or updater) will check on its own, and if there is an update ( or patch), it will update automatically before you can play. I tried to figure out if you could get that or what...that link you sent...but couldn't really get any info from the site...but yea that is basicaly it. Can we do that with C-script and some panels?

That is the updater for my current project. As you might have figured out, its my site.

The Updater basically works over the bigdll from triple X for the Download Ability and the mysql dll from destop to acess the mysql database and get the newest version and the according download link.

Now play that in mind, its fairly easy.

Hmm what is the link to triple X? if you have it handy . Can I get the code from there and play with it...or is not available?
