I have a working script...a client has no issues with connecting to the server, and everything seems to work. However when I publish the game and try to run it the game is froze. it displays the number of people connected, and even has the slelect your class pannel up and working. Usually I just push 0 (zero) and it unfreezes...but it don't unfreeze. What is the Zero key all about anyway? Anyone no why it "starts" froze? I am sure someone does.

Anyway how do I go about making it to where you do not have to hit zero to start using the game? Is there a line of script, or an engine variable I am unaware of? Is it possable to start the game without hitting zero if your script is set up for Multiplayer or singel player? If I put -cl at the end of the path of the shortcut...it works. If I make it a server it works ( have to hit zero first on either client or server...but it works...not so when in single player mode...single player mode comes up, panels show, everything is moving that should be...but you can not control anything...any ideas?

I am fairly new to the multiplayer side of scripting...and this issue has me stumped. Even if I redo the publish...still get the same issue...just not sure what's up. thanks

first of all you have to hit zero to get control of the camera, you don't have a movement script by the sounds of it. the rest i don't know about.


Wait, there isn't a "Make My Game Now" button?

No don't have a movement script as yet. Not trying to move the player right now. Yes you are correct..it's the camera. is there a way to eliminate having to press zero, until i code the movement and tie the camera in with it? Still does not explain why when published ( so I can test server / client) I have no control at all...or does it? I should still be able to control the camera right? or am I completely wrong in thinking this? I was able to control the camera without a movement script when doing non multiplayer, so thought it would be same..so i could test as i made the script.

But if a movement script is required, i will code one in tomorrow and see if that is all it is.

A movement script fixes the problem. If I comment it out it goes back to freezing up. Just so you know the movement script is tied to a camerra script. However I was wanting to be able to run it, without a movement script. Any ideas how to stop the game from starting froze? What I am asking is this:

is there a way ( or a small script) that unlocks the camerra from the start? How can I eliminate having to press the zero key to get control of the camera? I want to be able to use the normal arrow keys and such that you get without any scripts....but wothout having to press the zero key to get control of it...is this possible?
