Well trying to figure it out im running across all these tutorials and stuff i want to download but cant because the data i got from his email doesnt seem to be right. I try to download the key and its just a blank website and if i refreash it says the page doesnt exist.

Im assumming that since this is going to be camp based he has permission.

How can you people say that it is so easy when it is in fact so confusing? It is impossible to interface the programming to anything else.

What they probably mean is: its easy for an average intelligent person. I recall the youngest winner of a game programming contest here was 12, so you should be at least 12 years old for understanding this program. Otherwise its probably not so easy. You should tell us what you don't understand in the C-Script tutorial, so people can help you.

I tried make a game but the buttons are buggy.

And it seems to NOT put things on the game when you test it.

Other things seem to show up later that you thought weren't on there, I think its a bit laggy with saving.

There is NO tutorial and NO glossary so I agree, this 3D gamemaker has great potential but it is not ready for the general public

PS I have an IQ of 117 and I have made about 4 2D games that people have loved to play, thought Id try 3D but cant seem to make thwe transition

@Steveo: I don't agree with you on those problems you have encountered... it's perfectly good for the public.

After a few years of visual basic, I tried to work with flash actionscript. I ended up getting bugs, and after trying to debug them I concluded that the scripting was buggy.... it turned out to be me who was making mistakes.

After trying a few tutorials, I learned MY mistakes.

You say there are no tutorials... there are loads, and a glossary. Have a look around, read the tutorials, and you should be on your way, making 'the transition'.

I had a good laugh reading this post ... There seem to be two different problems, first, not being able to find the tutorial, and second, being able to find it but not to read or understand it.

I only wonder when someone can not find or understant this really easy beginner's tutorial, how can he then download and install the program itself? Maybe Conitec should write the word TUTORIAL in 1 inch letters, or even better, with a pictogram.

I put the game maker on and then wnet thru the controls...

I tried put ground down, then found a thing called "Terrain" ok....

Then I teried put monsterts there, and found a thing called "Models" then when I hit the play button heres what happenned....

The ground apperedf and the monsters but they was in the air and they dont stay on the ground, then when I move with the arrows I can go RIGHT THROUGH the ground!

Sure, your models stay where you've placed them unless you apply a behavior to them.

It's no good to hit some random buttons without knowing what they do...

That's why you should definitely read the tutorial first. Download it from the download page and and start with the C-Script Workshops!

You say download the "Tutorial" I appreciate you even taking the time to respond to my newbie question. Usually people just ignore me....:(

Ok I looked all around the download page and there is no "Tutorial"

If you know where I can get this can you post a link to it?

PS If you do this I wont ask too many more questions because given the rpoper info I am a quick learner
