Iīm working as an artist for a project using the gamestudio engine. Iīve got a very basic question concerning material exports from MAX to the engine. I havenīt found anything in the doc or in this forum.
I managed to export 3d objects with a diffuse map. bump or speculars etc. donīt seem to be exportable. Can I apply them later in the editor? I guess this should be possible with this engine?
Can I tile (repeat) a bitmap applied as a texture to an object?
thanx in advance!

Thanx for the fast answer. Iīm using 6.22... just kidding. I use the current demoversion WED 6.40.5 and MED 6.814 and my customer is using the current prof. version.
Where can I apply the the maps in the editor and where can I activate the tiling? Can you point me in the direction?

tiling is automatically activated. just make your UV map bigger than the bitmap, and it will be tiled.
you can add maps in MED via edit>manage skins>add skin. to tell the engine that your map's a normal/diffuse/dunno map you will have to write a material/shader though.
you can define groups, but i have never used them, sorry, so i do not know. but reading the board, this feature has been requested several times, so i guess it's not yet included.
you need to break up your mesh along the edges of where you would like creases, to the best of my knowledge the A6 engine see's all model entities as smooth by default. WED blocks are a different story, they can be hard or smooth based upon their map setting, cannot use DX9 shaders though.
