I just want to know how to implement disc swapping, or is it not possible? I'd really like to know, my game is getting pretty big and I need more space than just one disc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Of course it would work, just add a screen at a certain Point of your game and ask for the next disc, on the next disk there is a file which is called cd.2 or whatever, when the user hits a key check if this file is available, if it is the 2nd cd has been inserted else show a message like "Wrong disc"

Well I could have guesed that, but is the file anything special? Does it include instuctions? And how do I make 3DGS boot the level on the next disc? I apologize for acting stupid.

The level_load instruction doesn't say anything about where the level has to be located. So maybe it would work like this

level_load(<z:\levelname.wmb> ); \\ the letter z is just a sample name for your CD-ROM

I hope it works, but a lot of loading functions in the engine expect that the file has to be in the gamefolder or in the save folder. If it doesn't work than I don't see a solution for your problem, only maybe a DLL workaround would help.

You could use a text password checking code
either the one I use or the one that is in AUM5. At the end of disc 1 you could have a panel that appears and gives a password and will instruct the user to load disc 2. When disc two boots a panel will appear that will ask for the password and if you give the right password then the panel disappears and the you can now play on. See your 1st level will load on disc 2 but it will be behind the panel in freeze mode waiting for the password to be typed in. It should work. If you need some password code I have it. GS out.

This is all well and good, and I'll try to implement it when my game gets to that level. As for official confirmation, I'm wondering if Disc Swapping will be implemented in a future release of A5. Hopefully in the commercial version
