Hey guys, I'm recruiting team members for a project I've been working on for a few years now. Send me an email if you're interested in joining.

Team name:
Undecided

Project name:
BattleStone

Brief description:
The game is a turn-based RPG set in a fantasy world. (Think Breath of Fire, Suikoden I or II, early Final Fantasy)

The story is revolves around a 1000 war between humans and elves, and an ancient ruin known as the BattleStone. The stone was found during the last 100 years of the war, when the current emperor was on his campaign in the heart of the Elven Empire. Since then a cease-fire has been called, and the people enjoy a temporary piece. The stone is now in hands of the emperor’s top mages, who research franticly trying to unlock the secrets behind its’ crystal walls. Ark, a young soldier in the imperial army, is about to be assigned a new mission, a mission that will change his life forever.

Target aim:
Freeware or shareware.

Technology/Engine:
3D Game Studio http://www.3dgamestudio.com/

Compensation:
None. Sorry, this is volunteer work for the time being.

Talent needed:
Anyone who’s worked with 3d GameStudio before
3D artists
3D animators
Concept artist
C++ Programmers
C-Script Programmers
Javascript Programmers
Level designers

Check http://www.battlestone.net/helpwanted.htm for more information.

Additional information:
I’ve been working on the idea for a few years now. I have written over 170 pages of script for the game (which is about 90% complete), along with a 20-page design document. I have put a lot of time and effort into this idea, so I am very series about it.

If you can find it I'd recommend giving it another shot, it's one of those games any RPG fan should play through at least once. Suikoden 2 is also great, but that one is really hard to find.

you can find it here :
some isos
and epsx runs like a charm with it , i've alreay played it some time with this emulator.

For your game , you are asking for too much people for an indie freeware , shareware.

OK the side didn't worked 10 minutes ago , or was it my firewall ?

You should do level and world concepts also
decide worlds/regions what are their particularity , what sort of people live in it , are they friendly , what are the technology ancient/magic/modern , a mix ?
what they wear, general architecture of each region building , houses,
different way of transport (riding a giant scorpion why not )
etc ... etc ....

But if simple hack and slash or MMORPG it's ok

Good luck.

looking at your site, you've spend a lot of time in the artwork. Looks nice, if you need a c-script programmer just contact me via PM. I've had about 2 years of experience with 3dgs

programmer skils:
C#
JavaScript
Java
c-script
php
(and some C++ though i can't do a whole game in c++)

just enlisted everyting for you even though it wasn't required

BASIC programmers never die, they GOSUB and don't RETURN.

What do you mean I'm asking too much? You think an RPG is too big of a task for an indie developer?

I have that stuff planed out, It's all in the design doc.

Here's some examples: http://battlestone.net/images/map1.jpg
http://battlestone.net/images/map2.jpg

The combat is pretty simple. Did you look at the combat demo? http://www.battlestone.net/battle.swf

I an interested in your project, I like drawing that style of characters, I am a concept artist for hire, I do sometimes work for free for credits when the project is finished.
Please let me know if there is any concept art I can do. Here is the link so that you can view some of my work;
http://www.coniserver.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/746969/an/0/page/0#Post746969

You can email me personally at;
guruartist@comcast.net

I do however have a full plate of jobs right now but I am always drawing pictures.

The quicker the response the better.

Thanks
John - GuruArtist
