Hi!
Seen that this flag "untouchable" if attributed to an entity that are not important for the mouse, you gain some framerate, especially if there are many models, it would be well add it in wed as a flag to check in the properties of the model.

Umm... just an quick thought, but I thought this was already done, but inversly. Such as you have to have the models my.enable_touch on...

Exactly.
Nice to know somebody is reading the manual.

It's all about the manual...

Well, if it's all about the manual, then that includes how incomplete is also is at times. It says nothing about the default settings of my.enable_touch. It does however so for my.untouchable:

Quote:

entity.enable_touch:
Mouse events will only be triggered if the entity is within a distance given by the predefined MOUSE_RANGE variable (default 1000 quants) from the camera position.

Quote:

entity.untouchable:
Makes the entity 'invisible' for the mouse, and thus allows mouse events on objects behind this entity.

On - penetrable for mouse events
Off - catches mouse events (default)

flag

What's the purpose anyway of having two flags for the same thing with their default settings cancelling out each other?

cheers

they are different.

enable_touch uses a range (distance from mouse point)

untouchable uses a trace from mouse point

(I think - not completely sure. I've actually never used either of these, I'm just going off what I remember from the manual and whatever my mind's common sense tells me...

??? Both rely on the mouse doing a trace with range 1000 by default.

edit: and btw what you see above is ALL (!) it says in the manual about these two flags. If you know of any other info in the manual about these flags please specify where it can be found ...

I really don't know. Any further posts by me would just be my guess as to figuring out how it works.
