very unknown the paths of a7 are, my young jedi.

seriously: "liteC", which will come with a7, requires quite some changes in your scripts. more info in the "lite c beta forum" or on the forecast page.

I dont think it is a must to use Lite_C in a7 you can still use c-script
Obviously you can likely expect to have to adjust your original c-script for A6 simply because you will be using an other engine
The point in my opinion is an other
Lite_C will be released first and A7 will follow
Is it possible to use Lite_C in A6 and later on to port your game in A7 with minor Lite_C code modification ?

If your C-Script runs on the latest A6 release, it will run on the first release of A7.

I would recommend using Lite-C as soon as you can manage it (its quicker, and has more features), but you can finish up your current C-Script projects first.

Thanks Doug

So, if I understood well you confirm that I can use Lite-C with A6 and later on I can port my game in A7, with minor modifications ?
The reason for asking is the following
I have prototyped a game in c-script and A6 commercial
As soon as Lite - C is released I want to upgrade to A6 professional
I finish my game in C-Lite and A6 professional
Let's say I take abt 6 monthes more
At the end I may decide to port everything in A7 ( just in case of evident benefit )
Does it work ?

Well Lite-C is still in beta right now. But you can download it now and buy it soon.

As far as porting to A7, everything that runs on the latest A6 release version will work on A7.

When is C-script going to completely dissappear? Is that something you've guys already have thought about or decided on? Just a more or less random thought,

Cheers

C-script, like everything else in our digital world, will never really disappear. Since you can still find ADA or Fortran II programs running today, I'm guessing C-script will still be around 10-20 years from now.

But Conitec has already stopped adding features to C-script and the next-next-gen engines after A7 will probably not support C-Script.
