IntenseX - No 1st Person Gun in Second Level #116527

Hi Aris,

I have a second level, used the same instructions as for the ‘Backyard Level” Just called the WDL attached to this level ‘SecondLevel.wdl’ all the same Included files as the first level in the second level and was saved in the same folder as the Backyard Level.

However when I go near the door and excite the second level the ‘ix_1stperson_pistol.mdl’ does not show up visually although I can still shoot bullets from the invisible gun and pressing 1 or 2 gets me single shots or machine gun fire and the first person movements are fine. Yes I did place a player Dude in the second level attached to ix_player template.

I can also hit F7 and get the full third person player complete with gun and correct actions, but no 1st person gun view. All Templates entries appear to be correct.

Any Idea’s Aris.

This is a great collection of Templates, this is the best AI that I have ever
been able to use, game making will be a breeze from now on.

Hi Aris,

On Publishing the two levels after second level is entered no gun is showing in 1st person and bullets do not respond to mouse clicks, no alternative guns available this time.

On pressing F7 third person view, model can be seen, but no guns are available and no shots can be fired.

The ix_matchoDude can walk and run ok in both views.

Hey ozzie,

I have to admit, i haven't done any multi-level tests yet, although i know how important this is, to any kind of game. I'm working on the new IntenseX Basic version now which you'll be able to update for free, and i'll make sure to include a multi-level example in the manual, and fix any possible bugs that I find.

Meanwhile, keep all levels in the same folder like you did, but start a new IntenseX Project for every new level. If both projects are in the same folder, they'll share the same panel settings, so you won't have to redo that part. When the new update is out, you'll be able to update your existing project and get the ability to switch through levels and everything.

Howdy,

I have put both projects in the same folder, and they do share the same panel settings.

But it is strange that no gun or bullets show up in second level and when
F7 is pressed for third person the Dude is visible but no gun in hand or
bullets are available.

Are you sure that you've started a new IntenseX project as normal for the second level? Creating a new script, using IntenseX Project, etc? Just adding the include instructions doesn't really cut it when you need to start a new IntenseX project..

Hi Aris,

Just in case I made an error I gave my LevelTwo the Intensex Project
Script again, completed second level the same as the first, meaning
that all Models etc should be available from the same directory.

You will need to check this out before releasing your Basic addition.

Can sombody else confirm or prove I am wrong ?.

hey ozzie,

are you still trying to switch from one level to another, or stating both levels from wed? Switching levels won't work yet, i only gave u a workaround to work on all your levels in the same folder and start everyone from WED, until the new IntenseX Basic is out and you can switch through levels and everything just by using panels..

Hi Aris,

My Level change does not work from WED or from the Published folder,
What I mean is that I do go to the next level but no Weapons are
Visible or Available.

Sorry don't understand your last post, I guess I will have to wait
until the Updated Basic Addition comes out.

Hey ozzie,

yes, that's what I meant. I haven't tested level-change at all here.. But it will be the first thing i'll fix on the final IntenseX Basic release.

For the time being, i was trying to say that you should still place all levels in the same folder(so they share the same panel settings), but make the effort and start each one individually (like you have lots of 1-level games). When the new update is out, I promise i'll make it real easy to glue all these levels to one game.
