I got this idea for a thread. We review games, but completely out of a gameplay point of view. List the gameplay features, show the good and bad points, propose improvements and/or alterations. In the end the reader can see what works and what fails. Will anyone be interested in reading a thread like this?

Rollercoaster Tycoon...

I was so f*king addicted to this game, and so were many others. I think the fact why this style's so popular, is that it gives the player control. You can create your own rides, and scenery, like a level editor, only in realtime with strict limits (money, time, obstacles).

I'm not sure how you might implement this into another type of game, but this game scored major...

"Prince of Persia"?

Okey, let's take 'Prince of Persia: Sands of time'.

Gameplay features:

-interesting and intensive combat
-very cool acrobatics and movement (wallrunning, wallflips during combat, ledge jumps etc.)
-very cool traps in case you miss a jump or forget to grab onto a ledge
-movement is 100% smooth and feels natural and controlling the prince works like a charm
-challenging but beatable bosses/enemies
-rewind time, freeze time, slow time and behold the future
-very interesting leveldesign which demands the player to take good use of the 'special Sands skills' and many very good puzzles á la tombraider
-last but not least and not part of the gameplay but definately worth mentioning, it has an awesome way of telling the story, great cutscenes and the movie-like atmosphere is totally awesome. The game also has very very nice graphics, even if you play it today

I'd say it's about the best game yet in my book. (which reminds me, I haven't played part '3' yet)

I totally forgot to mention any bad things about the game, but I can't quite recall any annoyances.

Cheers
