I used to own it years ago, and it was not very good then. Given the track record, I don't see it being upgraded anytime soon if ever. It was a noble failure.

Gamespace uses an older Milkshape DLL for exporting. So it can export what Milkshape could export at that time.

I don't think that Caligari will write any game-related exporters on their own.

I also used to be a Gamespace user. I loved modelling with that tool but hated animation and texturing. So I changed to Lightwave with the result of a much more powerful and stable software with actual mdl7-exporters and exporters for other game engines as well.

DON'T BUY GAMESPACE!!! Frank is right, the bones "currently" have no weight map support and are extremely....well....horible, I love trueSpace, but I don't animate in it. When 7.5 comes out I might, but for now Lightwave is the way..if you are short on cash then Blender is better in some way and worse in others, but it is free("ventilator" has a great plugin for it).

Everybody Poops.
here are some tutorials I made.

Its really 2 late i bought gamespace long ago. But the current best software to model and animate my character would be lightwave. I mean for using in 3D gamestudio? If no would you tell me which one would be the best. I tried maya and finally 2 complexe for character in a video game.

Huh, didn't it simply use a Truespace Dll for export? It's a stripped down Truespace afterall, right?

Cheers

I agree with you childair jlightwave is the best to create and animate characters I've made some and they are amazing. I'm not a pro in modeling but Icould achieve great works with this software

There are two softwares which I was so disgusted of ,that I did not even download the free patches
One is DarkBasicPro ( cheap ) the other one is TrueSpace ( much more expansive )

P.S.
Particulary for animation as Frank_G said

I was talking about the first edition
As I said I did not download the pathces ,I simply switched to Blitz3d
What's wrong?
Obviusly I can accept some bugs
A game engine is a complex software developed by small companies and sold for a few dollars
I can not however accept bugs which you could find out and fix just running the programm 1 tinme
Even worse I dont like a company advertising features which are not yet implemented ( not a forcast I mean)
DarkBasicPro users are so used to such behaviour that they do not even complain any longer

Go and visit their site , you understand what I mean

Question
" Hey, feature "x" does not work "
Answer
" Of course , were you not aware ? "

That said, dont' let me misunderstood

DarBasic Pro is in constant development, it supplies a lot of advanced features ( Most of them working, of course)
If you get used to such beheviour you can get satisfaction
I never got used
I prefer 3DGS and Blitz3d style
Just a matter of taste
