anyone got any tips on creating roads with newton without the use of blocks ? idealy id like to beable to use olivers street creation tool because it looks the best way i can quikly and effectivley create my roads without spending weeks in sketchup and using blocks. polygon on option doesnt work and newton terrain wont work on models so those are out of the question.

i remember my first attempt at using an MDL in newton for my roads and it ended n disaster low fps like 1fps no joke but perhaps my draw distance was too large. but then the other thing was that even with the low fps i still couldnt drive on the surface of the mdl, only available action was newton wood entity and that just bounces you all over the place.

so far the only thing that works is blocks, but as you know your missing out on a lot of good looking models such as bridges, tunnels, garages

Make the mass off the model = 0;so it cant move

So this is the post

There are two ways:

1) Create seperate entities for collision that are invisible and with a mass of 0 [zero] as said by Fear411.

2) Use groups to store additional entities used in the same way as above, except apply the child action to them, and the compound-collision flag as well. This way's a little harder, but may provide better results...

I would also like to build levels with Models only. Please elaborate as I am not able to understand how to do it. Please give a working level if possible.

@msl_manni: Sorry, but I don't have the time to set one up. I might not too long from now though. And just to make sure we're on the same page, were talking about making model-based levels with Newton Physics engine. With just 3DGS, you don't have to do all of this
